Rules

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) publishes the deciding information in its meeting statement announcing the target range for the federal funds rate, generally released at 1:00 PM CT at the conclusion of each scheduled meeting. The next rate cut is the first cut in the target range that the FOMC announces after listing, where a hike is an increase and a cut is a decrease. The outcome is Yes if that rate cut is announced on or before December 9, 2026 and No otherwise. Early resolution applies, so the outcome can be decided as soon as the rate cut is announced; otherwise the value becomes final at 1:00 PM CT on December 9, 2026. If the statement is delayed, resolution waits until it is released.
